Summary of Regular School Board Meeting January 9th, 2012:
Meeting was called to order with all members present. Pledge was recited and agenda was approved with the addition of two items and moved the closed session to the first item on the agenda. Closed session was held for purposes of student issues. Meeting was reopened and the board approved the expulsion of two students. In business, request was made to increase pay for subs for teachers, paras, food service, custodians and bus drivers. Information was received on the new time card automation system, kindergarten tuition and the sale of 205A bond series. Two special meeting dates were set for the sale. Phase II of the boundary change will not be needed. Superintendent was instructed to post this notice to the website and inform buildings. The board reviewed the numbers on the non-public school report. Reports on the Facility Plan and the Strategic Plan were given to board members to review. Discussion on these items will occur at future work sessions. Superintendent Kauzlarich has agreed to an extension of his contract. The school board approved the increase to the sub pay as requested and approved the superintendent contract. Tammy Pexa was appointed to represent the school board at Metro ECSU. Meeting adjourned at 7:29 pm.
