"THAT'S COMMUNITY ED!"


COMMUNITY EDUCATION provides life-long education opportunities for learners of all ages. The programs and services offered to all residents of the school district are designed to meet expressed and emerging interests of community members and to enhance the quality of life for youth, parents, adults and senior citizens. Collaborations and partnerships with a variety of local, area, and state organizations help to provide events and linkages for people as well as a network of information sources available in the area.

                                    OFFERINGS AND PROGRAMS

"KIDS' COMPANY" - before and after school childcare for students kindergarten through grade 5.  Click links below for further detail.

 

YOUTH SERVICE (supporting leadership skills development and personal development of youth; volunteer opportunities in school programs).


YOUTH ENRICHMENT (providing a wide variety of opportunities for students to enrich their academic interests and talents)


            

  •  ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES


ADULT BASIC EDUCATION (high school diploma and GED classes and services).


ADULT EDUCATION (classes and seminars in computers, cooking, art, crafts, finance, personal growth, Czech language, Czech dance).

SPECIAL EVENTS (an annual Easter Egg Hunt; concerts, "artists' Alley", an annual Student Art Show, an annual Variety Show and others. Many of these are co-sponsored with the New Prague Chamber of Commerce and the New Prague Arts Council and member organizations).

NEW PRAGUE AREA COMMUNITY BAND (fifty members ranging in age from teens to 70+ who rehearse on Monday evenings and play at local events and area celebrations ten to fourteen times a year).
