You need to complete the following tasks to become "fully informed" as an expert!

  1. Click on the WebQuest Geologist Report worksheet.
  2. Complete your assigned role section of the "Geologist Report".  Find as much information as you can.  Analyze data.  You will be counting on your expertise in order to complete the next assignment.
  3. Work as a cooperative group and work hard on your area of expertise. Bring that new understanding to your group and teach the others in your group about your area of expertise as well as learn from the others in your group.
  4. As a group, research the geology of the area you live in. Think about the various geological processes that you just studied.  Discuss with your group the following question:  Could a volcano erupt in my backyard?  Why or why not?
  5. As a group, make a PowerPoint presentation sharing your expert knowledge about plate tectonics, earthquakes, and volcanoes, especially as they apply to the area you live in. Conclude your presentation with a slide that answers "Can a volcano erupt in your backyard". Be prepared to defend your answer.
  6. When you are done, go to the Four Mountain WebQuest  and complete that WebQuest.
