Measurements taken on Mount Everest and various volcanoes in California and Hawaii have shown that these mountains have grown from small hills into large mountains! Volcanologists swear that tectonic plates and subduction zones are at fault! Inquiring minds want to know why the mountains are growing taller or grew from flat ground to begin with! Are scientists making mountains out of molehills? Do subduction zones really make mountains out of small molehills? Inquiring minds want to know!
